AI for Trainers and Assessors
Twelve hours. Resource development, assessment validation, and what AI must never be used for.
What you will be able to do
- Use AI to draft and improve learning resources, with human review that is real
- Understand where AI can and cannot support assessment validation
- Recognise AI-assisted student work, and know the limits of that judgement
- Apply academic integrity principles to your own assessment design
- Explain your position to an auditor without hand-waving
Who it is for
VET trainers and assessors, RTO compliance staff, and school teachers. Built on CAQA Groups' own compliance experience.
What we cover
| Session | Focus |
|---|---|
| Session 1 | The tools, and the specific failure modes in training and assessment |
| Session 1 | Resource development with genuine human review |
| Session 2 | Assessment design that is harder to shortcut |
| Session 2 | Validation: what AI can support and what it must not decide |
| Session 3 | Detecting AI-assisted submissions, and the limits of detection |
| Session 4 | Your own resource or assessment, assessed unaided |
How you prove it
Every course finishes the same way. You demonstrate the skill unaided on a real task, you explain the judgement behind it to another participant, and then 30 days later you complete a short check on a task you have not seen. It takes about fifteen minutes and it is the only thing that lets us say you can actually do this.
Your credential
A CAQA Academy Capability Badge, stating exactly what you demonstrated and when, with the 30-day check result on it.
Questions
Can AI validate assessments for me?
No. Validation is a professional judgement made by qualified people. AI can prepare, compare and summarise. It cannot decide, and an auditor will not accept that it did.
Can I use AI to write assessment tools?
To draft, yes, with review that is genuine rather than a rubber stamp. This course spends real time on what adequate review looks like.
Does this count as professional development?
It is non-accredited professional development. It is not a nationally recognised qualification and we say so on the certificate.
