Holiday intensives

Four-day blocks in the school holidays. Pre-term readiness, exam preparation, or closing one stubborn gap properly.

Years 3 to 12 $595 for 4 days Online

What it covers

  • Four days, three hours a day, small group and online
  • One clear target agreed before the block starts
  • The full Mastery Cycle, compressed but not shortcut
  • A delayed check scheduled after the holidays, not during
  • A written report at the end of the block
  • Pre-term readiness, exam preparation or targeted gap closure

Who it is for

Learners who need a concentrated push: before a new year level, before an exam period, or on one topic that has resisted weekly tutoring.

The delayed check still happens. We schedule it for after the holidays, because a check taken on day four measures the week, not the learning.

How it runs

Four consecutive days, 9am to 12pm or 1pm to 4pm, online. January, April, July and September.

Descriptors we map

Every topic is tied to a named curriculum descriptor, and a descriptor only turns green once your learner teaches it back unaided and passes a check on new questions at least seven days later. A sample of what we map for this programme:

Sample curriculum descriptors
CodeDescriptor
TargetOne agreed descriptor cluster per block
Day 1Diagnose and begin explicit teaching
Day 2Model and fade, then deliberate practice
Day 3Interleaved practice and teach-back
Day 4Transfer tasks and the written report
Post-blockDelayed check after the holidays

Illustrative sample. The full map is built from your learner's diagnostic. See how the Ledger works.

Questions

Is four days enough?

For one descriptor cluster, often yes. For a two-year gap, no, and we will say so before you book rather than after.

Can this replace weekly tutoring?

No. Intensives work well alongside weekly sessions or as a targeted push. Spacing is part of how learning sticks, and four days in a row removes it.

What if my child is exhausted by day three?

Three hours a day with breaks is the maximum we run for a reason. If a learner is not coping we will tell you and we will refund the remaining days.
