AI Governance for Managers
Eight hours. Policy, risk, privacy obligations, procurement and the emerging assurance standards.
What you will be able to do
- Write or review an AI use policy your team can actually follow
- Identify where AI use creates privacy, confidentiality or contractual risk
- Ask a vendor the questions that matter, including about training on your data
- Decide what to permit, what to restrict and what to prohibit
- Brief a board or an owner on your position without overclaiming
Who it is for
Managers, business owners, RTO CEOs and compliance leads who have to make a decision about AI rather than just use it.
What we cover
| Session | Focus |
|---|---|
| Session 1 | What the technology is, in terms a board will accept |
| Session 1 | The risk surface: privacy, confidentiality, IP, accuracy, bias |
| Session 2 | Writing a usable policy, not a document nobody reads |
| Session 2 | Procurement: the questions to ask a vendor |
| Session 3 | Your own draft policy, assessed unaided |
How you prove it
Every course finishes the same way. You demonstrate the skill unaided on a real task, you explain the judgement behind it to another participant, and then 30 days later you complete a short check on a task you have not seen. It takes about fifteen minutes and it is the only thing that lets us say you can actually do this.
Your credential
A CAQA Academy Capability Badge, stating exactly what you demonstrated and when, with the 30-day check result on it.
Questions
Do you provide the policy template?
You leave with your own draft, written by you during the course. A template you did not write is a template you will not follow.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is practical governance training. Anything that needs a lawyer, we will tell you needs a lawyer.
We are a small business. Is this over-engineered?
The risk is the same size whether you have five staff or five hundred. The policy is shorter.
