The Understanding Ledger
Every learner has a record of exactly which curriculum descriptors they have proven, when they proved it, and on what evidence. Parents see it every four weeks.

Walk a descriptor through the gate
A worked demonstration with sample data. Advance a row to see what has to happen before it turns green.
Sample learner · Year 7 MathematicsDemonstration data, not a real learner
Amber is the honest state, and most systems do not have it. A topic that has been taught and
teach-backed is not proven. It is only proven once it survives a delayed check on questions the
learner has never seen. That gap between amber and green is where most tutoring quietly fails.
What the Ledger records
Green can go backwards, deliberately. A descriptor that has not been successfully retrieved in
90 days returns to amber and re-enters the schedule. A progress report that only ever goes up is not
believed, and it should not be.
