University support
Concept and methods teaching for Bachelor and Masters students, engineered so that it cannot become a cheating service.
What it covers
- Course concepts, taught on analogue problems we construct
- Research methods: design literacy and method selection reasoning
- Statistics: understanding the output, not producing it for you
- Critical appraisal of published literature
- Academic reading strategy and note-taking that survives exams
- Academic English for EAL/D learners, taught on published texts
Who it is for
Undergraduate and Masters students who need to understand something, not to have it produced for them. Taught by Academic Coaches with Masters or PhD qualifications.
How it runs
One to one, online, 60 minutes, booked as you need them. No lock-in.
Descriptors we map
Every topic is tied to a named curriculum descriptor, and a descriptor only turns green once your learner teaches it back unaided and passes a check on new questions at least seven days later. A sample of what we map for this programme:
| Code | Descriptor |
|---|---|
Concepts | Taught on structurally identical problems we write |
Methods | Design logic and method selection reasoning |
Statistics | Interpretation on synthetic datasets, never yours |
Appraisal | Critical reading of published literature |
Academic English | Register and genre, taught on published texts |
Exam technique | Retrieval and transfer under timed conditions |
Illustrative sample. The full map is built from your learner's diagnostic. See how the Ledger works.
Price
$135 to $165 per hour, GST inclusive. No lock-in contract, two weeks' notice, pause any time. Second subject 20% off and siblings 15% off on group memberships.
Questions
Will you look over my assignment?
No. We will teach the reasoning on a problem with the same structure, and you then apply it to yours alone. That is not a technicality, it is the whole design.
Can you run my statistics for me?
No. We will build a dataset with the same structure and teach you until you can run yours.
Do you edit theses?
No. Thesis editing is governed by the IPEd guidelines, needs your supervisor's permission and must be acknowledged. It is a different professional service and we refer it out.
